各位親愛的家長及同學：

Dear parents and students,

大家好！同學們已經整整兩個月沒有上學，你們有否掛念校長及老師呢？你們希望回校與同學一起學習、一起遊玩嗎？疫情再一次進入嚴峻的狀態，為了自己及別人的安全，一定要一起努力。在這段時期，學校在網頁新增了「LTY抗疫加油站」，老師已率先寫下鼓勵的說話，為大家打打氣。家長及同學也可以在網頁上留言，填寫資料後，我們會選出佳作，於網頁上分享，希望大家踴躍留言，為大家打氣。

How are you? All the students have not yet been to school for 2 months. Do you miss the Principal and teachers? Do you want to go back to school to learn and play with your classmates? The epidemic becomes serious again. For our own and others’ safety, we have to stay at home. In this period of time, our school website adds a new function called ‘LTY Anti-epidemic Cheer Up Station’. Principal and teachers have written down some encouragements for all of you. Parents and students can fill the form to leave some messages for us. We will choose some nice messages to share in our school website. Hope all of you try your best to leave messages to us. Let’s cheer up together.

在這個突如其來的「假期」，學校對於清潔校舍及保持衛生也沒有掉以輕心。工友每天都會完成不同地方的清潔，每星期也會徹底清潔公共地方。另外，學校已經購買及安裝了自動體溫探測機，方便同學進入學校時快速量度體溫，減少同學聚集，保障大家有一個安全的校園上課。

In this sudden ‘holiday’, our school pay extra attention to clean the school campus and maintain the hygiene. Janitors clean different places at school every day. They clean the public area like playground, staircases and so on thoroughly once a week. Also, the school has installed an infrared thermometer to check the body temperatures of students entering the campus. We believe that this can prevent students from gathering and reduce the queuing time. Most importantly, the thermometer can effectively detect fever to ensure the health and safety of the students and staff.

相信大家也有疑問，老師會否上班？當然會，老師們都需要輪流上班，他們會回校開會、製作網上學習材料、打陽光電話、完成報告、執拾教具及計劃復課後的安排等。體育老師自上次為大家製作了「LTY家居10式」外，今期更為大家製作「LTY家居運動有辦法」，現已拍攝第8式了。希望大家每天多做運動，保持身體健康。如果你們也有一些家居運動想分享，可以拍攝後將影片以電郵方式傳送給體育老師，說不定你的影片會上載學校網頁與同學分享。

Perhaps all of you have a doubt – do teachers need to go to school? Of course! But they come back to school on shift. They need to come back to school for meetings, making the e-learning materials, calling the parents, finishing the reports, tidying up the teaching aids and planning the schedule of the school resumption and so forth. Besides, all the PE teachers prepared the ‘LTY 10 types of home-based exercises’, they prepared another set of videos to you which is called ‘LTY ways of doing exercises at home’. They have prepared 8 episodes. We wish all of you to do more exercises at home and keep the body fit to against the epidemic. If you and your parents have some ideas, you can record it and send back to your PE teachers. They may share in the school website to others and you will become famous.

三月期間，蘇校董對學校十分關心，回校指導老師製作網上教材，衷心多謝蘇校董對學校的關懷。另外，張靖楠老師、林婷婷老師和我被邀請到大埔一所小學作分享，課題為「如何有效製作網上教材」。在疫情期間，全港學生無法回校上課，故我們希望將製作網上教材的經驗作分享，盡社會責任，為香港教育界出一分力。正所謂：「施比受更為有福。」

In the mid of March, owing to our school manager, Mr. So (the former Principal) loves and cares the school so much, he came back to school to teach the teachers how to make the e-learning materials for our students. Thank you so much of the concern and thoughtfulness of Mr. So to the school. Also, Ms. Cheung Ching Nam, Ms. Lam Ting Ting and I were invited to do a sharing in a primary school in Tai Po. The topic is about how to make effective e-learning materials for students’. During the period of epidemic, no students are allowed to go back to school. We wish to use our ability and share our experience with others, taking some social responsibilities for the Education field in Hong Kong. As an idiom, ‘It is better to give than to receive.’

這段期間，同學們要少出門，以減低被感染的機會。我明白同學在家中除了完成網上學習外，就好像沒有其他事情可做。事實上，這段時間最好是多閱讀，提升自己的中、英文閱讀及說話能力。當我年幼時，我經常聆聽英文歌、抄寫歌詞去學習英文，而普通話則是多唱普通話的歌曲。學習語文最有趣味的方法就是觀看中、英文的電影或電視劇集了。在觀賞時一邊看劇情，一邊看字幕，藉此學習新的詞語，為中、英文打好基礎。另外，亦可多找找自己有興趣的題目，例如：歷史、地理、音樂或其他等作深入了解，尋找不同的資料，之後，更可與大家分享一下。我喜歡研究星座， 我每天睡覺前也會淺閱一下。長的假期，我會到書局購買書本研究一下。 因此，很多朋友喜歡找我聊天去了解他們的星座特徵或未來去向。總之，藉這次「不一樣的假期」，多爭取不同的機會，提升自我。

In this period of time, students are not allowed to leave home as it can reduce the chances of being infected. I totally understand that students feel like they have nothing else to do except from completing the e-learning materials. Actually, it is the best moment for you to read more which can enhance your language proficiency. Refreshing my memory, I used to listen to English songs and copy the lyrics as a way of learning English when I was young. When I grew up and started my career, I sang Putonghua songs to practice my spoken language in Putonghua. The most interesting method to learn Chinese and English language is to watch movies or TV episodes. While you are watching, you are reading the subtitles. It is a good chance to learn new words or phrases that can help you build up good foundation on your languages. It is essential to find some topics you are interested in such as history, geography, music and so on to have a deeper understand of it. It is a good moment for you to find more information of the topic you like. Then, you can share with your friends, classmates, family or teachers and you will be an expert of that topic. Like me, I like reading horoscope. I read every day before I sleep. Also, I buy books to read. Therefore, a lot of friends love to meet me as I can give them more idea about his or her horoscope. It has a hint for them how to do in their future. Throughout this special holiday, you should attempt different opportunities to enhance yourself.
